Edition 1

Happy New Year and welcome to the first edition of Long Beach D’Tales, where you will hear about some of the things Long Beach Veterinary Hospital is up to as well as some informative topics here and there.

Looking back into 2024, our staff has grown. We welcome Veterinarian Dr. Taryn Ellis, who also assists at the National Wildlife Centre in Caledon, the bubbly Vet Assistant Kayleigh, Maddy, our Technician who is always smiling, Melissa, who posts on our social media and always helps where needed, and Bailey, who assists our Technicians. Also, we were lucky to have Jocelyn, a student from Georgian College, for three months, learning hands-on the various things we do here at the hospital.

In June, there was an open house where visitors could take a tour of the hospital to see where all the action happens and talk with staff. There was a photo booth and a coloring contest for the kids. Our Royal Canin Representative, Courtney, joined us to provide information about dog and cat food, and certified dog trainer Allison Groff from Always Focused Dogs was available to answer questions about training Fido.

There was also a BBQ with hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and refreshments. Our chef was none other than Dr. Becky Craig’s dad, who made sure no one left hungry. All was yummy. Great job, Mr. Craig! Maybe we can get him back to do it again 😉.

In November, our staff was certified in a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) clinic. This is such valuable training to have.

We have launched a monthly draw we call Paws Draw. One lucky pet from the previous month who had an appointment with either Dr. Craig or Dr. Ellis will randomly be picked to win a special prize. Maybe your pet will be one of our lucky Paws Draw winners joining Marvel, Summer, Billy, Milo, Remy, and Lenny.

Denise’s Tip:
Remember to keep their tails wagging by providing exercise both physically and mentally, a proper diet, healthy treats, and regular checkups.

Remembering Our Beloved Pets

We at Long Beach Vet would like to remember our pet patients who crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge in 2024. Always in our hearts…
