Owner and Medical Director

Dr. Becky Craig

Dr. Craig grew up in Barrie, and headed east after high school, to complete her Honours Biology degree at Dalhousie University. After which, she travelled to South America, Asia and the through the US. She volunteered at various animal sanctuaries and wildlife facilities before returning to the Ontario Veterinary College, to complete her degree and start her career as a veterinarian.

Upon graduation Dr. Craig worked in Edmonton at a busy downtown emergency facility before moving home to Ontario. During COVID, she purchased the small diner on 51st, where she envisioned opening a veterinary hospital in the Beach.

Her interests include small animal surgery, ultrasonography, and emergency medicine. She loves meeting new clients and patients and hearing about each of their unique journeys!

Long Beach has been an adventure to open, and she is grateful and happy to be here!

Veterinarian

Dr. Taryn Ellis

Like most veterinarians, Taryn has loved animals and dreamed of helping and working with them from a young age. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2010 and has been mainly working in the Southern Georgian Bay region since then. She enjoys all aspects of cat and dog medicine but has a special interest in internal medicine, dentistry, and keeping veterinary visits as stress-free as possible for her patients. Recently she has started training in wildlife medicine.

She shares her home with her husband and two young sons. Her fur family includes her dog Butters, cat Pico and two Guinea pigs Willow and Cranberry. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, skiing, cycling, dancing, cooking and napping.

Veterinary Technician and Management

Erin Longo

My name is Erin and I am the managing technician at Long Beach Veterinary Hospital. I have been working in the veterinary field since 2011 when I first started volunteering at a rescue shelter. I have since worked in multiple different clinics from emergency to companion animals, large animals, exotics and even wildlife! I especially love working with fearful and anxious animals to help them feel more confident as well as working with diet and nutrition to help pets live their healthiest lives! I hope to one day be certified in canine behaviour and training. I started at the bottom of the veterinary ladder as a kennel attendant volunteer and worked my way up to receptionist, veterinary assistant, technician assistant, and technician. I have been a technician since 2017 and came to work at Long Beach Veterinary Hospital to be a practice manager for Dr. Becky and her new clinic!

I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Guelph and my Master’s degree in Clinical Studies from the Ontario Veterinary College. While in school, I adopted my first two cats, Max and Millie. I adopted my third cat, Maverick, when I moved out to Stayner with my partner Matt. Our fourth addition, Remi, is our first dog. If you ever see them, be sure to say hi!

I love the outdoors, including hiking, camping, canoeing, and spending the day at the beach. I play a lot of competitive volleyball, both indoor and at the beach. On rainy and cold days I’ll be reading or at the movies.

I’m excited to be a part of this journey with Dr. Becky and the team. I look forward to being a part of the Wasaga Beach community, meeting you and your pets!

Client Services

Denise

I moved to Wasaga Beach in 2019, where I live with my 2 cats Spot and Smudge and my dog Ghost. Volunteering at a wildlife rehabilitation centre for 5 years was instrumental in learning about animal health.

Several years after leaving an 18-year career in the Gaming Industry, I hit the jackpot when I was hired for the Client Services Representative position with Long Beach Veterinary Hospital.

I am often the 1st person you see when you walk through the door. I’m happy to be working in this community, meeting new pets and their parents, and playing a role in their health care.

Veterinary Technician

Lauren

Shortly after graduating from Sheridan’s veterinary technician program, I got the opportunity to be a part of the team at long beach! I had seen it over the months being built and was ecstatic to see the inside, and now I’m grateful to call it my place of work! I’ve been passionate about this veterinary medicine for as long as I can remember, and now that I am a technician, I can put my skills and love for animals together.

I have an interest and appreciation for both wildlife and small animal medicine, even though they are insanely different! My hope for the future is to grow with long beach and maybe do some wildlife rehab on the side. Being a vet tech is my pride and joy and is a beautifully rewarding job!

Veterinary Technician and Client Care Representative

Gabby

My name is Gabriella, but I do go by Gabby (I like to say my mother got it right as I am gabber!). I live in the beautiful town of Collingwood with my husband and our three adorable dogs named Chloe, Kodak, and Coco. I enjoy volunteering with our local humane society and I have recently picked up knitting. My favorite part of working at Long Beach Veterinary is the happiness and laughter our clients and their pets bring us.
Veterinary Assistant and Client Care Representative

Shelly

Hello, I'm Shelly, the VA at our clinic, and I'm truly delighted to work in the veterinary field. What I love most is not only caring for the wonderful animals but also building relationships with their devoted owners. I'm particularly passionate about preventive care and educating pet parents about the essentials of keeping their furry friends healthy and happy.

My journey into the world of veterinary medicine began with my own dog, Milo, a 5-year-old French Bulldog who overcame health challenges through excellent veterinary care. His experience ignited my passion for this field, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on pets and their families. I'm dedicated to sharing my knowledge and expertise with our clients, ensuring the best care for their beloved companions.

Veterinary Assistant

Kayleigh

I’m Kayleigh (or Kay), Becky’s assistant. I started in veterinary medicine during COVID, where I met Dr. Becky and had the pleasure of working with her before she built her own clinic. Though I’ve only been working in vet med for 4 years, I have worked with animals for over 10. I have a background in grooming, boarding, breeding, showing, and laboratory medicine with a specific interest in veterinary reproductive medicine, nutrition, and compassionate euthanasia. I love being able to watch patients from the initial radiograph to the happy little bouncing babies they become, helping family pets with weight loss, and helping not only pets peacefully cross the rainbow bridge but help their owners with their loss as well.

I am a mother of a smart little boy and a spunky little girl, Jude and Kora. We have 3 dogs (Navi; lab mix, Spud; chihuahua, and Mars; shepherd mix)… it’s a full house! In my spare time you can find me hanging out with my kids for movie night, snuggling the pets while crocheting, or in the bay on my paddleboard.

I joined the team in February 2024 and have found myself at “home” quite quickly. I have a lot of fun working alongside Dr. Becky as well as the rest of the team here and look forward to meeting/getting to know you and your furry family member(s)!

Client Care Representative

Pattie

My name is Pattie and I am working as a client care representative at Long Beach Veterinary Hospital. I have always enjoyed working with animals which is why I pursued schooling at Sheridan College for the Veterinary Technician Certificate. I have worked in Shelters, Rehabilitation Centers and Veterinary Clinics since 1993. Prior to this position I worked in a Veterinary Clinic in Alliston for 20 years. As you can imagine I have always had a full house of furry friends, both fosters, palliative care, bottle fed babies and all with a lot of love. I enjoy spending my time with my 20 year old twins, my 2 older dogs, and extremely sassy black cat that rules the entire house. I could not be luckier to have been given an opportunity to work part time with Dr. Craig and her amazing staff of wonderful ladies.
Client Care Representative

Melissa

Melissa brings 6 years of veterinary experience to her role, driven by her passion for animal care and well-being, plus developing relationships with clients and their pets. Living in the country with her family and 2 beloved dogs, Ari and Dutton, plus opening her home to fostering and dog sitting for extended family pets regularly is where she loves to be. Outside of work, Melissa cherishes the simple things in life, including camping, sports, and spending time with family and friends.
Veterinary Technician

Maddy

My name is Maddy and I’ve been working in the veterinary field since 2020. I started at Long Beach in September of 2024 and am thrilled to be part of such an amazing team! I’m most passionate about dentistry, behaviour, and working with pet parents to help overweight pets reach their ideal weight. In my free time, I enjoy baking, knitting, cross country, and dog sports. I am owned by Milo, a sassy 11 year old Poodle.
